Born: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Resided: Hinckley, Leicester Enlisted: Dorchester, Dorset (*c. 7/9/1914)
*Military service: Private Locton's Regt. No. would indicate that he enlisted on or about 7/9/1914.
*Age: 29. Date of Death: 17/08/1915 Cause: Died of wounds (Sustained Gallipoli).
*Family notes: Son of Frederick and Sophia Rebecca (nee Millat) Lockton of Thurleston, Hinckley; Husband of Charlotte Florence (nee Corben) Lockton.
Trade/profession: Domestic Gardner (1911 English Census).
Other notes: Private Lockton’s Medal Index Card shows him as entering the Gallipoli Theatre of Operations on 11/7/1915; his Index Card also shows him as “D of W 17/8/1915”.
Census notes: The 1911 Census shows Fred (Domestic Gardner, aged 25), residing as a “Boarder” at, Virginia House, Langton Matravers, Dorset.
Special notes: The Army register of effects shows Private Locton’s sole legatee as “Widow Charlotte Florence”, it also shows his date and place of death as “17/8/1915 In action, Gallipoli”.
