Hi Mal:

As per your suggestion I'd like to post a  Roll of Honor for V Beach soldier who died in other theaters.
All the information I have for:   Pte. Patrick Delaney 9364 1Bn RDF, Ahmednagar, Madras, Torquay, Nuneaton. Kennilworth, V-Beach Gallipoli 25/4/1915; Lanchashire Convalescent 2/10/1915; DCM 26/11/1917; MM 11/2/1919.  Battles he probably was in include Somme 1916 (Delville Wood), Arreas1917, St Quentin 1918; Dardanelles Landing at V Beach, also Krithiia, Sulva.  He D.O.W. 28/9/1918, rank at death was CSM for "W"Company 1bn RDF.

Mal this is my 2nd reply to a post.   I did not see how to post as a new member, so I just replied.  Now I see all I had to do is use new topic instead of replying to other posts.

Mal:
Just looking at my thank you post.  I find ( just looking at all our posts) should have read "just looking at all YOUR posts"   You have to be a very busy person.  Thanks for your efforts.

I hope this brings up more information about "W Company" of the 1Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
Thanks
Carl

Hi Mal,

May I request a sub-heading for the 5th Bn Royal Irish Regiment.  Apart from my own fallen, I'll also add the other names as I come across them in the diaries.

G'day,

There is already a sub heading there for the 5th Bn Royal Irish Fusiliers which I think is the same battalion but as I am more into the Anzac side of things I could be wrong. If it is a different battalion just let me know and I will add it for you.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks Mal, it looks good and much more than I would've entered.  I was particularly interested to read the piece from the Belfast Newspaper, which I hadn't seen before.

His widow raised 5 children in all.

100 years ago today he boarded the Mauretania en route to destiny.
