DARCY (D’Arcy) Edward Private 15053 5th Bn Royal Irish Fusiliers

Born: Dublin Resided: Dublin Enlisted: Glasgow.

*Age: 19 Date of Death: 31/08/1915 Cause: Killed in action.

*Family Notes: Son of, Michael and Annie Darcy, of 9, Palmerstown Place, Broadstone, Dublin.

Special Notes: This soldier is listed on the IWM records, Soldiers Died (Part 68) and the CWGC with his surname spelt as “Darcy”; his will records and the 1911 Census return show it spelt as “D’Arcy”.

Grave/Memorial: I. B. 15. Green Hill Cemetery.

Private Darcy was the  Grand uncle of Association members Michael and Claire Bogan (Dublin) and every year on his Anniversary they have a Mass said in his memory.
