An interesting entry.
His MIC shows entry (2b) Balkans on 12/06/15
George was reported missing as per B213 on 3/7/15 and struck off strength, War Office Letter 122/4342 ( A.G 2a) 18/08/15. Although his body was never recovered, his Paybook (Army Book 64) was, by a Private J. Mills 3869, 'C' coy, 1st Lancashire Fusiliers, who wrote to Georges mother in a letter dated 7/08/15. This supplemental information was used by the War Office, to prove that George was indeed KIA and not Death Presumed.
