Hi Mal
The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons has just published a book on the Anzac Surgeons - it contains brief biographies of all identified surgeons from Australia and New Zealand who served in the MEF during the period of the Gallipoli campaign, both on the Peninsular and in the medical system supporting the troops. Manders was one of 47 New Zealand surgeons identified. He was killed by a snipper as he discussed medical evacuation plans with Gen Godley, August 9th, 1915. Andrew
