Calvert Maurice Private 12560 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Debryshire Regt.).
Born: Tibshelf, Derbyshire Resided: Tibshelf Enlisted: Chesterfield, Derbyshire
*Age: 20 Date of death: 9/8/1915 Cause: Killed in action.
*Family notes: Son of John and Annie Elizabeth (nee Turner) Calvert of 13, Haddon Street, Tibshelf, Derbyshire.
Trade/profession: Coal miner (1911 Census).
Other notes: Private Calvert's Medal Index Card shows him as entering the Gallipoli (Balkans) Theatre of Operations "Prior to 31/12/1915". The Sherwood Foresters served at Helles from mid July 1915 for about ten days before being withdrawn to Mudros in preparation for the August offensive at Suvla.
Other memorials: Private Calvert is commemorated on the Tibshelf War Memorial.
