The CWGC in their March E-Newsletter have released the following information.

After months of work, Chunuk Bair (New Zealand) Memorial has been completely restored. The project to renovate this site began back in the autumn of 2013, when the entire surface area was cleaned

using a low-pressure sand blasting machine. After the initial cleansing stage, staff in our Mediterranean Area  carried out a programme of structural repairs, reinforcing the memorial with stone inserts and slips.

Bearing more than 850 names, Chunuk Bair (New Zealand) Memorial is one of four memorials erected to commemorate New Zealand soldiers who died on the Gallipoli peninsula and whose graves are unknown.
To protect our history, we must secure it's future.
