The Australians never shot deserters but the Kiwis certainly did. This Aussie had the misfortune of joining up with the Kiwis whilst in New Zealand. Not a mistake he made twice.

Hi

I always thought that Australia and New Zealand did not shoot deserters!!!!  They sent them home in disgrace, so perhaps somewhere along the line it changed.
