CRAWLEY, Charles Private 14842 6th Bn Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers

Born: Ilford, Essex Resided: Ilford Enlisted: Stratford, Essex.

Age: 20 Date of Death: 07/08/1915 Cause: Killed in action.

Family Notes: Son of George and Rose Crawley (nee Dench), of 21, High St., Barking Side, Ilford, Essex.

Trade/profession: Messenger Post Office (1911 English Census).

Other notes: Private Crawley’s Medal Index Card shows him as entering the Gallipoli Theatre of Operations on 11/7/1915.

Census notes: The 1901 English Census shows the Crawley Family (residing at, High Street, Barking Side, Ilford, Essex) as follows; George (Bootmaker, aged 30) and Rose (aged 29) and their children, Ernest Crawley (aged 8), Charles (aged 6) and Edward V. (aged 3 Months).

Grave/Memorial:  Special Memorial A. 16. Green Hill Cemetery.
