GILBOY Patrick Private 12042 6th Bn East Lancashire Regiment

Born: Bonnifinglass, Foxford, Co Mayo Resided: Bonnifinglass Enlisted: Haslington.

Age: 24 Date of Death: 25/08/1915 Cause: Died, Gallipoli (IWM Records).

Family Notes: Son of, Patrick and Catherine Gilboy, of Bonnifinglass, Foxford, Co. Mayo.

Other notes: Private Gilboy’s Medal Index Card shows him as entering the Gallipoli Theatre of Operations on 1/8/1915.

Will notes: Private Gilboy in his will bequeath all his personal effects to his mother, named as, “Mrs Catherine Gilboy, Bonnifinglas, Foxford P O, County Mayo, Ireland.”

Special Notes: Private Gilboy is listed on the IWM records as “Died Gallipoli;” his will records show him as died “Mudros of dysentery,”

Grave/Memorial: II. H. 140. East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos.

Other Memorials: Private Gilboy is commemorated in, the Mayo Peace Park, Garden of Remembrance, Castlebar, County Mayo.
