This is all the information I have been able to gather at the moment on the S.S. Novian.

Propulsion: steam, quadruple expansion, single screw, 12 knots
Launched: Friday, 12/12/1913
Built: 1914
Ship Type: Passenger Cargo Vessel
Tonnage: 6368 grt
Length: 400.3 feet (BP)
Breadth: 52.5 feet
Owner History:
F Leyland & Co Liverpool
Status: Scrapped - 24/01/1934

Remarks: Completed: February 1914

Scrapped at Pola
 
 
Charles Bean in the Anzac pook (1916) published a photograph of the SS Novian at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915, with the following comment;
 
"The sun rising over Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli peninsula, on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the landing at Anzac Cove. In the centre of the photo is SS Novian carrying the headquarters of the Australian 2nd Brigade. At the right is the SS Galeka from which the Australian 6th and 7th Battalions (2nd Brigade) have been landing."
